A cold December day 8th December 2012.

Closing in and picking off the odd climb! I was a little apprehensive today as I was heading to the east, and they had taken a hammering on the snow front mid-week. However, BBC travel said all was well, so off I set in search of two more ticks.
First up was Peth Bank.

This was a straight-forward climb from Lanchester- steep to start, a couple of zig-zags , a false flat and then the top.

From there it was on to Elsdon and the “Winters Gibbet”. A great name and highly appropriate on a cold December day. No hanging around here!

The descent was precarious, and reminded me of some of the climbs at the start of the year. At one stage I was riding on the opposite side of the road to avoid the frozen surface.

(Hopefully there won’t be any more snow before I do the Welsh climbs at the end of term.)

6 miles, 200 m of ascent.
