Nervous anticipation

Tomorrows the day. The year starts and the challenge begins. To be truthful, I'm a little nervous. Will I succeed, how many will I do? Is it going to be a lonely road, or will I have company?
I've got two days before school starts to hit a couple of hills, but the forecast is crap.  However, I had a wet ride with my mate Quigs yesterday, and I would have bailed without him, so it's shown me that I can ride in bad weather.
NO EXCUSES!
So, Hartside on New Year's Day and then a trip to Lancaster on Monday.

Game on!

OK, so here we go.........

Christmas beckons. It's Christmas Eve, I'm stuffed full of lunch and vegging out on the sofa feeling distinctly fat. 2012 is on the horizon, and I'm now in my fiftieth year. What's it to be? How do I celebrate the big Five Oh and challenge myself in the process?
There's a definite need for some focus, and for a challenge that is above and beyond the usual. Something that will require planning, organisation, and a bit of drive. It's got to be cycling based, as I currently can't run, and I want it to include the opportunity to see new places.
So here goes, it's now out there on T'internet for all to see, follow, laugh at, support and hopefully ride along with! I'm also going to blog it, so that I can keep a record of the year and all that it entails.

Here goes.....

The challenge is to ride all of the 100 climbs in Simon Warren's book.

This will "hopefully" take me all over the UK in a 12 month period. I've done quite a few of the climbs already, but often not in the recommended direction, so it's a clean slate. Everything is new from New Year's Day.
BRING IT ON!
